whiner

We all complain about events in our lives. Why do we complain? Well cause I know I want to get my own way.  It's my god given right. Right?  "You get what you want" -Mcdonalds old slogan.  There are litterally billions of dollars spent in the court system for that very reason.   Every day twice as many people die from aids than 9/11.

I don't really think about that.  I'm too busy complaining about the food I ordered, the job I have, the cold weather.  I'm too worried about paying off my loans, my credit card, cell phone bills.  It's all a cycle.

I dont wanna be remembered for a job title, being well educated, being nice, sports, nice car, singer, funny, and the list goes on.

Whats the purpose to all this sanity?  The fact the we are run by corporations, the media, and hollywood.

The love of money is truly the root of evil.  Is that even a word anymore?  evil?  A nation descensitzed.

Anyway I've been reading Tony Campolo and watched him on an interview recently on cbc. I guess he started this movement. Welll I think Jesus started it but whatever.............

Red-Letter Christian

Jump to: navigation, search

Red-Letter Christians believe that Evangelicalism has been exploited by both right-wing and left-wing political movements, and they endeavor to create an Evangelical movement that focuses on the teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly in regard to social issues. "Red-Letter" refers to New Testament verses printed in red letters to emphasize the actual words that Jesus spoke without the use of quotations (see Red letter edition). This movement was initiated by authors Tony Campolo and Jim Wallis who felt the Religious Right spend too much time on two issues: abortion and homosexuality. They believe Christians should be promoting biblical values such as peace, building strong families, the elimination of poverty, and other important social issues.[1]

The social issues valued by Red-Letter Christians include taking care of the poor, spreading the Gospel, and loving one's enemies. They believe that these are the issues that Jesus spoke of directly, and therefore these issues should be political priorities. Other issues such as homosexual rights, abortion, and war are viewed as important but over-emphasized by both liberals and conservatives.

On the reason for creating Red-Letter Christians, Tony Campolo said, "The purpose of this gathering was not to create a religious left movement to challenge the religious right, but to jump-start a religious movement that will transcend partisan politics."[2]

Critics of the movement have suggested that Red-Letter Christians have shaped their religion around their political beliefs, rather than vice versa.[3]

February 27- March 11

For some it's a trip of a lift time for others they could care less but for me....well it's my second time and it's pretty rad.   I'm leaving early next tuesday morning along with another instructor and 9 students flying in 3 cessna 172s and 1 Piper Warrior across the midwest of america over the grand canyon and all the way to Chihuahua Mexico stopping at UIM, MAF, and NTM (different aviation mission organizations).  This trip was started back in 2002 and I went in 2003 but this will be the first time flying all the way into mexico.. I am excited plus i'll get to see my bro.  Anyway I'll post a website if you want to follow along on our journey.

It will be something like this but 2007 instead.......http://www.harvsair.com/trip_stories/prov_2003/index.htm

borrowed time

Well when you think of borrowing something usually you return the item you borrowed or someone just wont borrow you stuff anymore. Yet when it comes to our time it seems that it cant be borrowed.  It is either stolen, given freely, or just wasted and you cant get it back ever...... as much as i liked "back to the future".

Well today on February 10, 2004 my Mom was taken away from here.  It seems like it was stolen.  For some this day is a birthday, a wedding day, the first of many things.. Of course it's a day i wont forget.  We all have those days.  Anyway sometimes its like yesterday and other times when i miss you most it seems like you've been gone forever.  so thats that, another day, just another date and we put some much value in time and space yet eternity is forever.  tick tok

it's not the liquor i miss

i usually have no idea what a songwriter, poet, or author really means by words they put on paper.  does it really matter?  is it whatever i take from it or am i losing face if i dont understand what they really where implying.

well i dont know. i know that sometimes words are put together because they sound good, flow, what have you and other times words just come from the heart and are personal. i'm all about pirates and boy bands. they rock.  arrrrrrrh

anyway check out Jesse DeNatale at WECC on feb 11 if you like. i hope to make it.
